Study: Corona vaccines do not harm sperm

The potential harms attributed to vaccines designed to combat the Coronavirus are numerous, including damages related to male fertility, but according to a new study, the vaccines may not have any negative impact on male fertility.

It showed a new study ) conducted by researchers at the American University of Miami (University of Miami) and published its findings on the gamma (JAMA network to receive doses of vaccine Pfizer or Moderna may not have any negative impact on the number and quality of sperm in men.

During the study, the researchers examined semen samples taken from 45 men, aged 25-31 years, and none of them had ever had problems with fertility. These samples were collected from the people in the study twice, once before they received the first dose of vaccines. And again 70 days after receiving the second dose.

Then the samples taken were examined to measure the following indicators:

The researchers noted that the sperm did not undergo any significant changes, meaning that the vaccines did not affect it. Here, it should be noted that the men included in the study had received mRNA-type vaccines, such as Moderna and Pfizer.

This study comes to provide new scientific evidence that receiving coronavirus vaccines may not harm male fertility and that the chances of this type of complication are very small.

Therefore, the findings of this study may encourage more men to receive vaccinations, especially those who may have been prompted by some circulating and false news about the negative impact of vaccinations on fertility to decide not to receive the vaccine.

The researchers hope that in the future, they will be able to conduct more studies on a larger scale to confirm these findings and make the matter conclusive.

Coronavirus effect on sperm

Although vaccines may not negatively affect male fertility, the Coronavirus may! According to an earlier study, infection with the Coronavirus may have negative consequences for the male reproductive system in some cases.

It was noted during the aforementioned study that infection with the Coronavirus had caused an increase in the levels of inflammation and oxidative stress in sperm in some men, with negative changes in the concentration, movement, and shape of sperm, and the more severe the complications caused by the virus to the infected person, the greater the damage.

Also, some medications that are used with people infected with the Coronavirus may have a relationship, as these may negatively affect the quality of sperm in men.
